The Storytelling Workshop Lucknowites need to attend this weekend!

Tales grow in their telling, and in a universe made of stories as much as atoms, words create their own distinct kind of magic.
Have you ever wondered how people can tell great personal stories that connect with millions?  Wanted to do something really different involving performing arts? To write spoken word pieces that resonate with half the Internet?  Here’s your chance to learn it all from the best in the business and even perform with them.

Kommune ( is a performance art collective that’s given us powerful and memorable pieces like ‘Hindustani Musalmaan’ (, ‘Why I Don’t Fall in Love’ and ‘the introvert’s banter’.

With India’s largest Spoken word festival and the YouTube Silver Play Button for over half a million subscribers, Kommune is one collective that truly blends digital and physical storytelling to create unforgettable experiences. And like most things literary – they’ve got their own Lucknow Connect, as Kommune’s founder, Mr. Roshan Abbas, hails from the city of nawabs , and has even shot films in the city that feature his alma mater,  La Martiniere College.

This Sunday (14th January, 2018), Kommune is coming to Kala Srot Art Gallery, Lucknow to teach you how to improve your storytelling skills, with Shamir Reuben and Hussain Haidry.

Lucknow Book Club Kala Srot

Shamir is Kommune’s in house slam poet, who’s had years of experience in journalism and mass media, while Hussain Haidry is a lyricist,  who has written several songs for films like Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz , and Qareeb Qareeb single.

What’s better is that Shamir and Hussain both have had their work viewed and shared by millions and have a way with English and Hindustani, thus providing the best possible mentorship that the workshop participants could have!

This long-awaited workshop with the Lucknow Book Club in association with the Kala Srot Art Gallery promises to lend a note of warmth to this winter.
