Another step is taken towards the Swachh Bharat mission of the government, a garbage ATM is launched in Lucknow, where you can exchange garbage with money! Instead of throwing away those waste plastic bottles elsewhere throw it in this reverse vending machine.
The development minister, Suresh Khanna, inaugurated two garbage ATMs on Tuesday in Lucknow. He said that putting up of garbage ATMs in the city is a revolutionary step in the Swachh Bharat programme, the commoners can even get money in return.
The two machines are set up near Hanuman Mandir in Hazratganj and at 1090 cross street in Gomti Nagar. The minister said that the machine has a proper technical set up which can segregate the waste into different types making it easier for recycling. The step is considered to be quite different and a lot of change is expected as its result!
The Garbage ATM would work like any normal ATM i.e upon entering the ATM one would have to access the LED screen and return to the asked questions and enter the One Time Password that one would receive on their mobile phones and further access is to be done. Later on, the money will be transferred into the e-wallet of the person.
The state’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath also examined the Hazratganj Garbage ATM on Wednesday. The Chief Minister appreciated the step of Garbage ATM and said if this turns out to be successful then using garbage ATM will be publicised all throughout the state.
