The report cited DCP South East Delhi Romil Baaniya saying that they arrested a very important member of this syndicate that led them to recover the data of 1 crore people. The police was investigating a case of stolen Rs. 1.75 lakh of a south Delhi female resident. The amount was stolen from an 80 years old lady’s credit card. Police nabbed the culprits who use to steal the data and personal details of people from “Insiders” of banks, call centers and Authorized banks.
“The data was almost 20 GB comprising card holder’s names, date of birth, card numbers and mobile numbers”-Police told TOI.
The nabbed person is Pooran Gupta is a resind of Pandav Nagar, East Delhi. He revealed that he sold data of 50 thousand people around 10-20 thousand.
This module use portray them selves as bank employees and get the details of people such as CVV numbers and OTP’s after convincing them. And withdraw money later. The culprit revealed buying data from a Mumbai based supplier, whom police is trying to catch.

Banks keep announcing their policies through messages and e-mails that none of the bank employee would never ask for your personal details such as CVV or OTP numbers. Its high time that bank and governments should be more strict in investigating these syndicates and people need to be more aware as well.
