Phelps claims that he’s got some “unfinished business” which needs to be taken care of ahead the upcoming event!
“I have some unfinished business I’d like to take care of them before I hang up my suit. And I’m actually enjoying being back in the water again. That was pretty challenging for me going into 2012. But I just feel like a kid again and I love it.”
The American ace has won innumerable laurels including 26 World Aquatics Championships gold, 16 Pan Championships gold and a World Swimming Championships gold medal.
With 18 Olympic gold medals, Phelps holds the record for most medals by any Olympic athlete ever. However, he’s more than just ready to go back for more.
On being asked how he has been preparing for the Rio Olympics, Phelps said “The amount of energy they have and the atmosphere of the city, I think it’s going to make these Olympic Games very special. That’s something I look forward to – just being able to embrace everything that the city has to offer. Rio is going to go all out.”
