Major security flaw found in Intel and other processors can affect all the smartphone, Pcs and even cloud computing. It’s being said that the fix can slow down the devices. There are serious security flaws that can lead access to all the personal sensitive data including the passwords, banking details, and personal stuff. The privacy of the people is at risk and it’s known now.
Google and Intel both have said that they were going to Inform the public about the bug on 9th January after they have come up with more fixes for the bug. The Meltdown and Spectre flaws are found in processors designed by Intel, ARM, and AMD. They can simply affect any modern computer, tablets, PCs, smartphones everything using almost any operating system.
The flaws were discovered by security researchers at Google’s Project Zero in conjunction with academic and industry researchers from several countries. Meltdown is “probably one of the worst CPU bugs ever found”, said Daniel Gruss, one of the researchers at Graz University of Technology who discovered the flaw. As per google it is not yet known whether the hackers have already exploited these flaws or not.
Google said that the Android devices that are running on the latest security updates are well protected from these bugs. As per researches, Apple and Microsoft have already come up with their patches that would fix the bug issue. AMD says that it believes that there is believably no issue with the AMD devices from the bugs.
“Intel has begun providing software and firmware updates to mitigate these exploits,” Intel said in a statement, denying that fixes would slow down computers based on the company’s chips. “Any performance impacts are workload-dependent, and, for the average computer user, should not be significant and will be mitigated over time.”
Well, we do believe what Intel and Google have to say about these bugs! yet Meltdown and Spectre are actually the two worst ever CPU bugs.
